Leonberger Dog
The Leonberger is very affectionate and trustworthy dog breed. The Leonberger dog have a very sweet expression. Loving and trusting and calm mannered, this Leonberger dog just loves everyone. The Leonberger dog intelligence is extraordinary and will get on well with dogs and other pets as well with the most obnoxious children. With most of these dogs, if the situation becomes too intense, instead of showing any aggression, the Leonberger simply walks away.  The Leonberger does not respond very well to harsh training-methods. The Leonberger dog breed will do better when the trainer shows patience rather then discipline. If you want your Leonberger to be a watch dog you will need some special training. Gentle giant in nature, this intelligent and brave dog breed, is eager to please and responds to nurturing training. The clicker training will do well with this breed of dog. The Leonberger dog can get along with other dogs. Socialize early and well, as this puppy will become a very large adult! The Leonberger dog is more agile than many other giant breeds.

A distinct characteristics of a Leonberger is its black mask, usually up to the eye area or just above the eyes. However, this black patch never completely fills the entire head. To match its famous black mask, the nose and lips are also of the same color. The Leonberger dog breed is generally very large. The skull is somewhat shaped like a dome with warm, affectionate brown eyes, giving off a gentle, somber expression. The Leonberger dog ears are hanging and just the right size. The Leonberger dog tail is set low and usually thick, reaching at least the hocks. Its feet have black pads and webbing between the toes to help in swimming.     Read on...
