Finnish Spitz breed is a very
independent and often aloof dog, this Finnish Spitz is a
breed that is strong minded and lively. The Finnish
Spitz dogs love
to play and stay active, and physical and mental
stimulation is a must in order to avoid boredom and
associated destructive behavior. Although the Finnish
Spitz dogs are
very independent, the Finnish Spitz dog can also be very loyal and
devoted to their families, and are known to be
particularly fond of children. The Finnish Spitz may
often bond with a particular person, but in general is a
dog that loves the companionship of people and enjoys
being a part of the family action. The Finnish Spitz dog does have a
sensitive nature, and you should therefore ensure that
he is not in an environment that is wrought with
tension. Because of the independent nature of the breed
of dog, it is important to ensure that he is socialized early
on. Although the Finnish Spitz dog gets along with most
pets and other dogs, but can be aggressive towards same sex dogs, and
may chase smaller pets such as birds and rodents.
The Finnish Spitz dog is a small dog
that has fox-like features. The Finnish Spitz dog has dark, almond shaped
eyes, forward pointed ears, black nose and lips and a
pointed muzzle that encases teeth that form a scissor
bite. Just like its Japanese counterpart, the Finnish
Spitz has a tail that is curled across its back. The
Finnish Spitz dog also
has rounded, cat like feet that come with dew claws.
However, these claws are removed from the rear legs of
dogs that participate in shows.
