Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is a good natured, loving, and loyal dog that makes a wonderful family pet. These dogs are intelligent, responsive, and obedient, which makes them one of the easiest breeds to obedience train. The Labrador Retriever dog is well suited to both inexperienced and experienced dog owners. This breed is very quick to learn, and is friendly and sociable, with a mild manner and a very amiable attitude. Labrador Retriever dogs is full of energy, loves to join in with a wide range of activities, and has plenty of love and affection to shower upon his family. This breed gets along with just about everyone, from children and strangers to pets and other animals. These active dogs do require regular exercise, and will fare well with a secure, safe area in which to play and enjoy some exercise.

The Labrador Retriever dog has several versions – Black, Yellow, Chocolate, and Silver – depending on the coat color. Whichever color, this breed has a short, dense, low-maintenance, and water-resistant double coat. This large breed is sturdy and muscular. Furthermore, it is intelligent, responsible, and protective that it is often employed to guide the blind and other persons with disabilities. In fact, it was once tagged as St. John’s Dog. Lagotto Romagnolo
The Lagotto Romagnolo is a working dog. This breed has a natural gift for searching and its very good nose has made this dog  very efficient in truffle searching. This breeds former hunting instinct has been eliminated, hence his work is not distracted by the scent of wilds animals or other dogs. The Lagotto Romagnolo is loyal, keen, affectionate, very attached to his owner and easy to train. It gets on well with other dogs and the other pets if sufficiently socialized. A Lagotto Romagnolo is supposed to get along with any dog. In Italy they are kept in packs, so they need to get along. This dog is an excellent family companion and a very good warning dog. The Lagotto Romagnolo is a good pet and loves people.

The Lagotto Romagnolo is a small to medium sized dog characterized by its well proportioned body that is covered by a thick, dense, profusely curly coat. The coat originally protected the cuddly canine from thorny shrubs and bushes when it worked as a hunter of truffles. This early occupation earned him the moniker “Truffle Dog”. Lakeland Terrier
Lakeland Terrier is a playful dog. This dog breed is busting with energy and can be very entertaining with lots of enthusiasm. This dog confident and courageous can be very curious. Gardeners beware, this dog loves to dig holes and not the right choice for those who want the quiet life. Lakeland Terrier dogs demand plenty of attention and activity and can bark obsessively. Alert and eager to please, the Lakeland Terrier is an intelligent dog and is quick to learn. These dogs are hard to train because the Lakeland Terrier is very independent and often stubborn, making them best suited to those with some level of experience with handling and training dogs. You will need to ensure that your Lakeland Terrier gets regular exercise.

The Lakeland Terrier is one dog that, if it weren’t for its breathing or any sign of movement, could be mistaken for a stuff toy. It exudes a wonderful combination of smart, spunky and elegant look. Its elongated head has a bushy hair on the foreface, V-shaped ears that are folded, eyes that are dark or hazel, and a nose that is dark. Its hairy legs are strong-boned and upright, it stands as if on toes. Its coat comes in several combinations – black, black and tan, reddish, red grizzle, wheat, liver and blue, tan and grizzle, etc. This coat is wiry and hard on the outer layer, but is soft in the inner layer. Lancashire Heeler
The Lancashire Heeler dog is very alert and friendly with those he knows but may be wary of strangers. An excellent ratter with rabbit catching potential. It has superior strength and broad instinctive abilities. This breed makes a pleasant companion, and does best with older considerate children. The Lancashire may nip at peoples heels as it has a strong instinct to herd and must be taught not to do it to people. This breed may be difficult to obedience train, but it is trainable. While it has great herding instincts and will make a wonderful herder of cattle, goats and horses it is rarely used as such.

It is said that when the Welsh Corgi and the Manchester Terrier were bred, the resulting offspring was the Lancashire Heeler. The Lancashire Heeler, also called the Ormskirk Heeler, is a distinctly black and tan colored dog that is set low to the ground. Their legs are short, their paws turned slightly outward. The coat of the Lancashire Heeler is plush during winter, and sleek and shiny during the summer. These dogs are very similar to terriers in personality.  Read on...

 

Leonberger
Leonberger is very affectionate and trustworthy dog breed. This dog have a very sweet expression. Loving and trusting and calm mannered, this Leonberger just loves everyone. Their intelligence is extraordinary and will get on well with dogs and other pets as well with the most obnoxious children. With most of these dogs, if the situation becomes too intense, instead of showing any aggression, the Leonberger simply walks away. The Leonberger does not respond very well to harsh training-methods. This dog breed will do better when the trainer shows patience rather then discipline. If you want your Leonberger to be a watch-dog you will need some special training. Gentle giant in nature, this intelligent and brave breed, is eager to please and responds to nurturing training. The clicker training will do well with this breed of dog. The Leonberger can get along with other dogs. Socialize early and well, as this puppy will become a very large adult! The Leonberger is more agile than many other giant breeds.

A distinct characteristics of a Leonberger is its black mask – usually up to the eye area or just above the eyes. However, it never completely fills the entire head. To match its famous black mask, the nose and lips are also of the same color. This breed is generally very large. The skull is somewhat shaped like a dome with warm, affectionate brown eyes, giving off a gentle, somber expression. The ears are hanging and just the right size. Lhasa Apso
Lhasa Apso dog is a very friendly yet assertive breed. This dog is suspicious of strangers by nature. Lhasa Apso are very intelligent and spirited yet devoted to family. Affectionate , these little dogs like to favor one more over the family. Lhasa Apso dogs can also be willful at times but good training can make them obedient to the dominant owner. Lhasa Apso dogs make good watch dogs. With there loud and persistent bark, they give the impression to intruders of a much larger dog. Lhasa Apso dog may not be well suited with children as they get to nervous around them. This dog breed are inclined to fight if they are not the only dog in the house and have excellent hearing.

The Lhasa Apso is a handsome dog and is also known as the Lhasa Terrier. It is a small dog with a rich, long, straight, and silky fur that gives it a darling and graceful appearance. This double coat drapes over its entire body down the floor, and over its face including eyes thus giving it a truly charming shaggy appearance. Interestingly, this coat changes color as it ages. The colors range from gold, cream, and honey to smoke, dark grizzle, slate, and a combination of brown, white and black. The often concealed eyes are small, dark, and deep-set. Löwchen
The Löwchen is a dog with lots of character and a cheerful personality. This spirited little dog makes a good family pet and companion. Intelligent, the Löwchen is quick to learn and eager to please. The Löwchen is a dog that is entertaining and fun to be around. Löwchen is a dignified and sensible dog that thrives on attention from his family. In return this dog has lots of love and affection to give. Löwchen loves to play and join in with all the family fun. This dog will also be content to simply snuggle up and relax with you. These mild mannered dogs can sometimes lean towards timidity, and this means that early socialization is important in order to promote confidence and improve social skills. A well socialized Löwchen will get along well with children, providing that they are gentle and considerate, and will also get along well with other pets.

The Löwchen breed has been known as the Little Lion Dog or Petite Chien Lion. It is a small compact dog with a well proportioned body. It has a short head, which is characteristically wide, as well as a tail that is set high in a “cup handle” position as it walks. Its eyes are dark and round, nose is black or brown, and ears are moderately long with fringe. Its coat gives it a cuddly appearance – dense, soft, slightly wave, and comes in any colors.
